Gene E. Lubbert


Gene E. Lubbert, 69, of Nora Springs, died Wednesday August 17, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.

Inurnment will be at a later date.

Gene Edward Lubbert was born April 13, 1942, at Charles City, the son of Alvin and Mary (Green) Lubbert. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1962. On December 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Char Auringer at Floyd. Gene worked at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company before becoming an independent insurance agent. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd. His interests included fishing, hunting, watching movies, and working on his acreage. Family was always important to Gene and he looked forward to sharing his life with them.

Living family members include his wife, Char Lubbert of Nora Springs, three daughters, Denise (Brian) Wilkins of Mason City, Jodi Lubbert and special friend, Tom Lincoln of Mason City and Kathy Lubbert and special friend Brian Howe of Nora Springs; six grandchildren, Ashley (Adam) Kingery, Alyssa Porterfield, Zachary Porterfield, Dillon Stromley and Special friend, Silver Collins, Dustin Stromley and Taylor Tiedt; a great Granddaughter, Alanah Stromley; two brothers, Duane Lubbert of Charles City and Harland Lubbert of Texas; two sisters, Diann (Glenn) Jacobson of Charles City and Barbara (Melvin) Gibbs of Waterloo; and devoted cat, Annie Sue.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jamie Jacobson
